The Landscape Project

Those of you who know me will know that my first love in photography has always been that of Bird photography followed closely by Macro. Whilst that is unlikely to change I have recently had the desire to branch out into other areas. I have always enjoyed taking landscape 'Snaps' and have long had a desire to improve my shots in this area.

Well the time has come!!!

It is my intention over the coming months to really work at this area and this started Saturday 13th September. I spent the day with Chris Maddocks

I met with Chris at Old Wardour Castle where I received plenty of advice and the loan of Chris's filters for the day. You will have seen some of the results in the gallery.

As you can see from this some improvement required! (Well we all have to start somewhere) Thanks to Chris for helping me launch the project and for the advice given on the day.

Over the coming months I will post in the Landscape Project Gallery the results of my efforts - good and bad.

I will include in this page details of the project as the months progress.

Kit being used for the Landscape Project

Canon EOS 20d
Canon 18-55mm lens
Lee filter system with Hitec soft grad filters.
Manfretto Tripod and Monopod.

This is my starter kit - as I add kit I will add it on here.

I will shoot in RAW and process using CS2 and Photomatix pro 3.0

Wiltshire Views

27th September.....

A lovely bright autumn day - took another trip upto Win green hill to have a go at those wonderful Wiltshire views.

(large view can be seen in the Wiltshire views gallery)

Just love colour of that sky!

Settings for this shot where -

The shot was bracketed at 1 stop either side and the finished image is the three images combined and processed in Photomatic.
